Ebern Designs Furniture Made The Room Feel Smaller
Anybody else underestimate how different furniture looks once it actually arrives in a small apartment? I ordered a couple pieces from Ebern Designs thinking I finally figured out the layout of my living room, then spent half a weekend sliding everything around because the space suddenly felt way tighter than it did in my head. Weirdly enough, the furniture itself looked good, the problem was realizing how much room scale changes once real life enters the picture with bags near the door, blankets on chairs, and random stuff everywhere. Curious how other people handle balancing style versus keeping a place comfortable to move around in daily.

Small apartments punish bad furniture choices fast, because one wrong piece can make the whole room feel cramped. My place looked fine in my head until the delivery boxes showed up and suddenly every walkway felt narrower. The part that stood out most was how apartment scale moved ebern designs closer to a practical test of daily movement than a simple style decision. A chair can photograph well, but if it blocks a bag near the door or makes the sofa corner awkward, the excitement fades. The better approach for me became measuring the boring stuff first: walking space, lamp placement, where blankets land, where guests actually sit, and only then caring about the look.
