Need advice on photoshoot locations in Dubai (not just the usual Burj Khalifa shots)

Hi everyone! I’m planning a trip to Dubai next month for my anniversary and really want to get some nice photos. I’ve seen the classic shots near the Burj and the fountains, but they feel a bit "touristy" for me.

Does anyone have suggestions for more authentic or unique spots? Maybe something with older architecture or a specific desert area that isn't overcrowded? Also, if you’ve worked with local creators who know how to capture the "vibe" of the city without making it look like a staged catalog, I’d love to hear your experience. I'm a bit worried about the heat and how it might affect the shoot, so any tips are welcome!

To be honest, the Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood is your best bet if you want that authentic, "old soul" Dubai feel. The textures of the walls and the narrow lanes are incredible for photography.

Regarding the heat, definitely aim for the "golden hour" — either early morning or just before sunset. We actually had a similar dilemma last year during a family gathering and ended up chatting with the Dubai photographer team. They suggested a few spots in the desert that I hadn't even heard of, and it made a huge difference. They seemed more focused on the storytelling part rather than just posing us, which we really liked. It’s worth looking into how local freelance teams approach it, as they usually know the lighting conditions better than anyone else. Enjoy your anniversary!
